T-TEN

Our T-TEN program is an intense highly structured course that is Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation (ASEEF) accredted and is the largest Toyota CEED certified program. 

 Become a ASE Master Technician

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is the most recognized credential in the automotive industry. Many companies will pay higher wages to technicians that have ASE certifications.  As you progress through the program you will have the opportunity to take ASE tests at the our expense! When you complete the program you will have the knowledge to and opportunity to pass all 8 automotive ASE tests. 

Advanced level Specialist

Once you have passed the engine related ASE's you can take the Advanced Level Specialist test (L1). After you pass this test along with the rest of the automotive series (A1-A8) you will earn special rewards from the Toyota T-TEN program.

Foundations

This class introduces you to the  automotive technician world. You will learn about tools, flat rate, inspections, service and more. These activities will take place in the classroom and shop, consisting of written and hands-on exercises. Prerequisites: None.

Electrical 1

Activities will consist of, but not limited to; using a voltmeter, ammeter and ohmmeter to evaluate circuit conditions and determine needed actions, using fundamental automotive electrical circuits and electrical simulator boards. Students will also receive comprehensive training on the theory of operation and troubleshooting techniques on the following; series circuits, parallel circuits, series parallel circuits, Batteries, Starting and Charging systems. These activities will take place in both a classroom and shop settings, consisting of written and hands-on exercises. Prerequisites: Automotive Foundations

Electrical System Diagnosis
(Electrical 2) (A6)

In this class students will take all they learned in Electrical 1 and add multiplexed circuits. Students will use Techstream to interact with the vehicle to learn how to diagnose and repair multiplexed circuits. These activities will take place in both a classroom and shop settings, consisting of written and hands-on exercises. Prerequisites: Automotive Foundations, Electrical 1

Steering and Suspension (A4)

This class covers suspension types, tire wear diagnostics, tire repair, alignment, electronic stability controls and much more. Our students use modern equipment and modern vehicles. The activities will take place in the classroom and shop, consisting of written and hands-on exercises.
Prerequisites: Automotive Foundations, Electrical 1, Electrical 2

Brakes (A5)

Brakes activities will consist of  diagnostics, repair and/or replacement of pads, rotors, shoes, drums, ABS systems, hydraulic systems along with wheel bearings and seals. These activities will take place in the classroom and shop, consisting of written and hands-on exercises. Prerequisites: Automotive Foundations, Electrical 1, Electrical 2

Engine Theory (A1)

Engine Theory is a 6 week class that includes complete engine disassembly diagnosis and reassembly, Engine remove and replace, lubrication and cooling system service and diagnosis. These activities will take place in the classroom and shop, consisting of written and hands-on exercises. Prerequisites: Automotive Foundations, Electrical 1, Electrical 2, Steering and Suspension and Brakes.

Engine Performance (A1, A8)

Activities will consist of, but not limited to; diagnostics, repair and/or replacement of engine related components and an overview of emission control systems. The activities will take place in the classroom and the shop, consisting of written and hands-on exercises. Prerequisites: Automotive Foundations, Electrical 1, Electrical 2, Steering and Suspension, Brakes and Engine Theory.

Engine Controls (A8)

This class is where all the training in Electrical and Engines comes together. You will learn how these new engines can have so much power and yet be efficient clean and reliable. These activities will take place in the classroom and shop, consisting of written and hands-on exercises. Prerequisites: Automotive Foundations, Electrical 1, Electrical 2, Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Engine Theory and Engine Performance.

Automatic Transmissions (A2)

In the Automatic Transmission class you will learn hydraulic theory, valve bodies, operation and diagnosis, gear sets, holding devices and more. The emphasis of this class is remove and replace. These activities will take place in the classroom and shop, consisting of written and hands-on exercises. Prerequisites: Automotive Foundations, Electrical 1, Electrical 2, Brakes, Steering and Suspension, Engine Theory, Engine Performance and Engine Controls

Manual Transmissions (A3)

The manual transmission class covers clutch operation, transmission diagnosis, remove and replace, teardown and reassembly and more. These activities will take place in the classroom and shop, consisting of written and hands-on exercises. Prerequisites: Automotive Foundations, Electrical 1, Electrical 2, Brakes, Steering and Suspension, Engine Theory, Engine Performance and Engine Controls.

Air Conditioning (A7)

This class will cover AC theory, heat transfer, components, diagnosis, component R&R, recharging and more. These  activities will take place in the classroom and shop, consisting of written and hands-on exercises. Prerequisites: Automotive Foundations, Electrical 1, Electrical 2, Steering and Suspension, Brakes Engine Theory, Engine Performance and Engine Controls.

Professional Development Program (PDP)

Our PDP program was developed to help our students be better prepared for life after Job Corps. You will learn money management, interviewing skills, employability skills, how to write a resume, how to be part of a team, employer expectations and much, much more.  Employers say this is one of the most important classes.
