UAW-LETC has partnered with Salt Lake Community College to offer a Professional Truck Driving Course (CDL) to students enrolled in the Diesel Technician Program at the Clearfield Job Corps Center in Clearfield, Utah. This intensive program is designed to prepare students for an entry-level truck driving position as a Class “A” CDL driver. The program has two courses with units of study that cover basic and advanced operating practices, defensive driving, inspections, life skills and essential activities such as trip planning, map reading, hours of service, cargo handling and an employment workshop. The Class A (No restrictions) license is intended for driving a commercial motor vehicle equipped with air brakes. Vehicles with a gross total weight rating of 26,001 pounds, requiring a towed unit of 10,001 pounds or more (i.e. tractor-trailer.).

Students interested in attending the Professional Truck Driving Program must be enrolled in the UAW-LETC Diesel Program and need to meet certain eligibility requirements to be accepted into this program.
